Red Sabrevois Producers Virginia Vineyards

Sabrevois is a red hybrid grape created by Elmer Swenson in August 2001. It owes its name to the village near the Richeliu River in southern Quebec, where Gilles Benoit of Vignoble des Pins has made his first high quality wine.

The vigorous, winter-resistant Sabrevois is robust at -35 ° C, with good resistance to diseases, producing small to medium-sized clusters with moderate sugars and slightly elevated acids. It can give wines with a deep color accompanied by a quite aromatic character.

Red Sabrevois should age well for blends with other red hybrid varieties known for higher sugars (Frontenac or Landot Noir) . . .
