Steuben
Steuben is a hybrid black skin grape developed in New York from a cross of two varieties, Wayne and Sheridan, in 1925. The variety is cultivated mainly in the northeast of the United States, in the State of New York, Pennsylvania, Indiana, Ohio and Virginia.
The variety is particularly resistant to cold, vigorous and productive while being fairly resistant to diseases.
Steuben wines are popular as single-varietal reds, but appear more often as rosé or blush wines.
The variety is particularly suitable for the production of light and sweet wines, because it retains high levels of sugar and is not very aromatic…
