The saperavi is a Georgian grape variety that produces red wine
It is from the Alazani Valley in Kakheti region in eastern Georgia in the Alazani Valley between the mountains of the Greater Caucasus.
The grape is with bright colors and rich red flesh with acid, it is a late maturing variety, low performance, well suited for cultivation in colder regions that Red wines can age over 30 years.
It is also found in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Moldova, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan, Eastern Europe Bulgaria, Romania, and the USA and Canada. . .
