Vignoles Producers Vermont Vineyards

Vignoles grape

Vignoles is a hybrid grape variety

Originally named "Vignoles" by the Finger Lakes Wine Growers Association in 1970, genetic testing has recently shown that Vignoles did not share any major genetic marker in common with Seibel 6905 or Pinot Noir. Thus, Vignoles has no connection with the vineyard "Ravat 51" imported to the United States in 1949 and the filiation of Vignoles is currently unknown

Moderately vigorous vignoles with moderate yields, small, very compact bunches susceptible to Botrytis rot, medium resistance to disease and medium winter resistance (-23 to -26 ° C).

Prized for its ability to produce balanced, fruity, late-style sweet white wines, including ice wine, also used to produce dry, dry, and semi-dry white wines

In the United States, Vignoles is grown primarily in the Finger Lakes area of New York State, and in the Midwest, including Missouri, Indiana, Ohio, Illinois, Iowa and Kentucky…
