Chenin Blanc

Chenin, also called Chenin Blanc is a white grape vine.

Native from Anjou in France and attested from the ninth century, or it would have been obtained by selecting from chenin noir subsequently extends to Touraine where it will get its present name, probably from the mountain Chenin Mont.

After the revocation of the Edict of Nantes, some Huguenots found refuge in South Africa. They took this variety in their luggage and planted in this region, today we have found it in : Argentina, Chile, California, New Zealand, Australia and South Africa. . .
